Who are Technopolis?
Technopolis.bg, one of the three largest online stores in Bulgaria for electronics, IT, and office equipment, successfully went through a platform migration with the help of Serpact. The site serves thousands of customers every day, providing high-quality products from leading brands. The company’s main goal is to offer innovative solutions and a high level of service.
What were the challenges for Serpact?
The project involved technical SEO, semantic development and strategic keyword management. We successfully worked with the Technopolis, Praktiker, Studio X and IBM teams to provide a comprehensive and coordinated solution during the website migration.
Challenges we tackled are:
- Migration to a new platform: Migration from an existing system to Angular & Node.js technology, combining SSR (Server Side Rendering) and CSR (Client Side Rendering);
- Technical issues: URL case sensitivity issues, lack of required documentation;
- Indexing and Content: URL cannibalization, duplicate data, insufficient URLs for all potential searches and non-indexed pages;
- Semantic Optimization: Creating a semantic core for keywords that address the client’s business intent, including local phrases and keywords for specific brands.
Our tasks and approach
- Technical SEO audits:
- Performing a full technical audit of the current version of the site to identify critical errors such as mixed content, incorrect canonical tags and unindexed pages;
- Auditing the staging version of the new site to verify that all technical recommendations have been implemented;
- Performing a final technical audit after the migration to ensure all SEO tasks are correctly implemented.
- Semantic SEO:
- Development of a semantic core which includes combinations of product categories and key product features for optimal indexing;
- Analysis of local phrases and brand keywords for better audience targeting
- Development of blog content strategy and informational keywords.
- Migration management
- Creation of a master file with all necessary tasks and instructions, including redirects and URL structure;
- Establishment of a real-time task monitoring system.
- Tools used
- Screaming Frog for full site scan and analysis;
- Trackian (all GA4 & GSC data and blending) to track indexing and page performance based on keywords and their performance;
- Ahrefs and Semrush for keyword analysis.

Our team has significant experience in managing complex migrations for online stores that use various technologies such as SPA, SSR, CSR, React, Node.js and others. However, regardless of experience, each project requires an individual approach, and the real measure of success comes from the results.
